The GREENLand Project: AgroTV’s curious endeavour sheds light on the Topic of Microplastics

AgroTV featured a unique perspective on the activities of Educons University and the GREENLand project in episode No. 36 of “Agro popodne” (“Agro Afternoon”) on May 25, 2024. The topic was how engaged the media are in educating and informing the public, and covering the issue of microplastics’ presence in the environment.

Agro Television (Agro TV) is a Serbian television station and the only channel dedicated to agriculture 365 days a year.

The guests and interlocutors in this video reportage were Dr. Gordana Racić from Educons University, Dr. Aleksandra Ziembińska-Buczyńska from Silesian University of Technology, Centrum Popularyzacji Nauki Politechniki Śląskiej from Poland who held the workshop “Scientific communication for environmental sciences – is microplastic “catchy” enough to gain media attention?”. Then, Prof. Dr. Mira Pucarević, Dean of the Faculty for Environmental Protection, as well as Prof. Dr. Nataša Stojić, also from Educons University.

In this reportage, the interviewees presented the problems we face as a society, about the impact of Project GREENLand on scientific research of microplastic detection in soil and water, how far we have come in research, as well as capacity building including the significance that microplastic has on our daily lives, especially in the region of Vojvodina.
