Radio-Television of Vojvodina: How do microplastics affect the environment?

Microplastics have been present for years in food, water, air, and human tissues. Research from the University of California indicates that exposure to microplastics, minuscule particles resulting from the degradation of packaging, textiles, and common plastic items, may directly expedite the progression of atherosclerosis, a condition that constricts arteries and heightens the risk of myocardial infarction and cerebrovascular accident.

What is the impact of microplastics on the environment? The objective of the GREENLand project – TWINNING MICROPLASTIC-FREE ENVIRONMENT – is to enhance research capacities in Serbia through collaboration with leading European institutes, specifically Educons University (Serbia), Alfred Wegener Institute, Helmholtz Centre for Polar and Marine Research (Germany), and University of Galway (Ireland).

Miloš Rajković, a scientific advisor from Educons University, was a guest on the television program “Good Morning, Vojvodina.”
