As part of its continuous commitment to environmental protection and sustainable development, Educons University is proud to announce the installation of the first smart recycling machine (Reciklomat) in Sremska Kamenica.
The device has been placed in front of the university building at Vojvode Putnika 87, marking a significant step forward in promoting responsible waste management and environmental awareness in the local community. This initiative aligns with the university’s broader efforts to reduce plastic pollution, particularly microplastics, which threaten ecosystems and public health.
By introducing this technology into the local community, Educons University is promoting responsible waste management and supporting the transition toward more sustainable lifestyles.
The Reciklomat system is user-friendly and encourages active citizen participation. Through the free mobile app “Reciklomat”, users can collect points for every recycled bottle or can and exchange them for various rewards. The app also provides information about the location and availability of all recycling machines in the city.
As an added incentive, Educons University will award one Reciklomat user each month with a 50% tuition discount at the Faculty of Environmental Protection, valid until September 2025. This initiative highlights the university’s unique approach to linking environmental action with education and community engagement.
In addition to the newly installed Reciklomat in Sremska Kamenica, five more machines are currently located at central locations throughout Novi Sad: Beogradski kej, near the former “KEJ SHOP” Trg slobode, next to Apolo centre Žarka Zrenjanina 2, in front of the City Assembly, Chinese Quarter, near “Fabrika” Bulevar despota Stefana 5, at the main entrance to “Štrand” beach.
With this initiative, Educons University reinforces its role as a leader in environmental responsibility, contributing to cleaner surroundings and a more conscious society.
