The GREENLand Project at the First Meeting of Micro and Nanoplastics Researchers from Serbia, Montenegro & Bosnia and Herzegovina.
On April 10, 2025, our researchers, Prof. Dr. Nataša Stojić and MSc Galina Ćurčić, participated in the “Microplastics for Breakfast” conference in Belgrade. This pioneering event brought together scientists from Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and North Macedonia to showcase their work on micro- and nanoplastics. The conference also attracted policymakers and featured lectures, workshops, and demonstrations by international experts.

The main focus of the event was presentations of 20 research teams and their projects, highlighting regional capacities, laboratory equipment, and specialised research areas. Discussions emphasised the need for collaboration and joint projects to advance microplastic research.

During this unique event, they presented the newly established Center for Microplastics at the EDUCONS University’s Faculty of Environmental Protection and strengthened the regional connections with researchers in this field.
Additionally, they directly engaged with the target audience for the MICROM2025 conference through flyers and networking, as well as through active involvement in the organisation of the event, with the Educons University and the GREENLand project logos prominently displayed on all promotional material.
