Representatives of Educons University, Prof. Dr Nataša Stojić and Assoc. Dr Ljiljana Milošević, from the 10th to the 14th of February 2025, visited the Flanders Research Institute for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (ILVO) in Ostend and the University of Ghent in Belgium.
During the visit to the ILVO Institute, they informed in detail about the methods of extraction and analysis of microplastics in the soil, as well as with sophisticated software for the detection of microplastics. At the University of Ghent, a meeting was held with researchers dealing with microplastics in water and soil, where the possibilities of future cooperation were discussed. Research on biotechnological methods of breaking down microplastics using microorganisms was also presented.
This visit fostered the exchange of knowledge and experience, as well as the connection with leading institutions in the field of microplastics research, opening up space for future joint projects.
