International Conference (Micro-nano) Plastics in Soil 2024

Prof. Dr. Natasa Stojic and Assoc. Dr. Ljiljana Curcic participated in the International Conference on Micro-nano Plastics in Soil 2024 in Utrecht, the Netherlands, organized by the Deltares Institute and the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management. Three workshops were also organized as part of the conference: From risk assessment to policy, Main analytical challenges in sampling, extraction, analysis, and testing, Case studies: Micro-nano-plastics in “One health” (humans, animals, and ecosystems). Professors from Educons University had the opportunity to present the work of Educons University as well as the results of the Greenland project. They established contact with representatives of the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management, as well as with the present researchers and scientists. The representative of the European Commission Directorate-General for Environment, was particularly interested in our work, with whom we discussed novelties in the field of legislation on microplastics. This conference is of exceptional importance both in terms of the topics covered at the conference and in the workshops, as well as in terms of connecting with experts in the field of microplastics.
